Hello. My name is Aljaž Tepina. Welcome to my portfolio. I am a video director based in Maribor, Slovenia. I mostly work on short films, promotional videos and commercials. I do a lot of pro bono work on projects that intrigue me. My interests lie in storytelling and film language, especially camera movement and intellectual editing. I am currently a student of media communications at University of Maribor.

60 km/h down a ski slope on a cushion. Shot by Žiga Krajnc and me, edited by Peter Perunovic of PeterPerunovic.com Photography. Shooting conditions would best be described as frozen hell, but the light flashing through snow made it worth the trouble. The first slovenian Blazing was a success.
As said before, my next project is going to be a remake of Romance in Grey, from now on known as Project Romance, since I don’t have a new title yet. Pre-production is almost finished. The team is mostly assembled, the script is in a stable state and we have a shooting date – 6 and 7 April. I still have to design the shot list, but I am getting there. Two weeks ago we, as RAZ:UM production, had a general audition, which was very successful. This week we’ll have callbacks and finalize our decisions for the cast.
Meanwhile our production designer, Urška Samec, has been busy preparing a scene concept and looking for locations. This is what she came up with:
Pretty neat, right? Poke the picture for the hi-res PDF. I apologize for not translating it, but it basically suggest an empty industrial space like a warehouse. The idea is the bare scene will make the characters and their relationship stand out. We are going abstract, you see?
